Job Description

What you’ll do…
  • Create a fun and relaxed atmosphere where guests come to wind down and enjoy themselves.
  • Make whatever the mood calls for, from soft drinks to masterful cocktails that change with the seasons.
  • Know your product and systems inside out, from spirits and beer, wine and coffee.
  • Work with the rest of team in keeping things running smoothly and tidily.
  • Be more than a Bartender – willing to lend a hand and help the F&B team as a whole.
  • Actively participate in the creation of new cocktails.
  • Have a perfect knowledge of the different alcohols and cocktails served and the desire and hunger to learn more.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of your workplace and hygiene and food safety (HACCP).
  • Support the Baristas with making the best coffees in town.

What we're looking for...
  • Previous bar tending and particularly cocktail making experience
  • Individuals. You’re looking for a place where you can be you; no clones in suits here
  • Passion for hospitality – whether that’s a drink, a meal, an event or a bed for the night
  • You’re all about having a positive impact on the people you interact with, leaving them with a memorable experience
  • You’re not precious. We leave our egos at the door and help get shit done
  • You’re up for doing things differently and trying (almost) everything once
  • If we got stuck in a lift together, we’d have a good time and share a few laughs
  • You want to be part of a team that works hard, supports each other and has fun along the way

More about us…
The Hoxton is a series of open-house hotels, each in a neighbourhood that we love. Ever since we opened our first hotel in Shoreditch, we’ve never just been about offering a bed for the night. We want to be more than that: proving style doesn’t need to be sacrificed for good value and providing a place where guests can hang out alongside the locals and submerse themselves in the neighbourhood with vibrant, welcoming public spaces.

Homey & Layered

The Hoxton is a series of hotels rooted in culture and community. Each hotel is a reflection of its neighbourhood, inspired by the diversity of the streets and scenes that surround them. Ever since we opened the doors of our first hotel in Shoreditch back in 2006, we’ve been known for our vibrant, homey lobbies and our celebration of the locality through art, design, retail and eclectic programming.

The Hoxton, Amsterdam is located on Herengracht with beautifully designed 111 bedrooms, a vibrant public area and Lotti's, our buzzing neighbourhood restaurant. The menu features an internationally inspired brasserie style cuisine with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. During the day, Lotti's is a place to meet, relax or work, and from Friday to Sunday the bar plays host to local DJ talent.

We're now building a series of hotels in our favourite places, finding new and exciting neighbourhoods to open our doors in. The second Hox opened in Holborn, the third in Amsterdam, our fourth in Paris and we just opened our doors in Williamsburg and Portland. Whilst we're going from one hotel to many we don't want to become a chain and we don't want our organisation to become a huge machine. There's no hierarchy here, not in the hotels or in the office. We like team players, who work hard and have fun.

It's an exciting time to be part of The Hoxton, which is growing and evolving with a young team who are passionate about everything they do.
