As a Duty Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the hostel across all departments, including reception, bar, and restaurant. You will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of service, staff performance, and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities Operational Oversight: - Ensure all hostel operations, including reception, bar, and restaurant, are running smoothly throughout your shift. - Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the hostel, including the garden, stock room, and back areas.
Staff Management: - Monitor staff performance and ensure they are completing their duties efficiently and wearing proper uniforms. - Provide guidance, training, and support to staff as needed, ensuring they feel comfortable asking questions and resolving issues. - Step in to cover duties when staff are unavailable or additional support is required.
Guest Relations: - Address guest complaints, manage deviant behaviour, and resolve booking issues promptly and professionally. - Maintain a welcoming and hospitable atmosphere for all guests.
Problem Solving & Delegation: - Quickly address any issues that arise, delegating tasks to appropriate staff members as necessary. - Communicate any low stock items to the office and ensure that all operational needs are met.
Security & Safety: - Check in with security upon arrival and ensure the safety and security of all guests and staff. - Ensure that all hostel areas are closed, turned off, and secured at the end of your shift.
Communication: - Report any staff issues to the office, issuing verbal warnings when necessary. - Ensure that off-duty staff or friends present in the hostel are behaving appropriately and staying out of work areas.
Qualifications: - SVH training (preferred but we can organize this for you if needed) - Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. - Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure. - Excellent problem-solving abilities. - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Betaalbaar lunchen of dineren in het hartje van de binnenstad, op een steenworp afstand van het Rijksmuseum. Waar vind je dat nog? Bij mooi weer is het zelfs mogelijk om in de binnentuin te eten.
Ons internationale horeca team bestaat uit een gemotiveerde groep van ongeveer 10 vaste medewerkers.
De keuken is dagelijks geopend van 12:00 tot 22:00.
