To start, Mr. Jordaan is a haven for travelers, and we go the extra mile to make people genuinely feel at home. Our interaction with guests goes beyond the usual check-in and check-out procedures. We provide our guests with a unique and unforgettable experience, showing them Amsterdam and the Jordaan through our eyes. Service and genuine interest play a crucial role in this. For instance, during breakfast, as our guests savor freshly baked croissants and share their plans for the day with us, we jump in with our personal favorite spots and attractions. These moments of personal connection continue throughout the day. At Mr. Jordaan, it's all about personal attention and exceeding expectations. Your day. As an operational team member at Mr. Jordaan, no day is the same. We're a small hotel with no distinct departments, so everyone gets to be truly versatile. You are... A multitasking hospitality hero with a fresh perspective, a hands-on mentality, and a proactive attitude. Together with the team, you aim to deliver the highest quality and strive to exceed our guests' expectations. You adore the Jordaan, have a fondness for Amsterdam, and reside in the area. Experience in the hotel industry is a plus, but a strong command of at least Dutch and English is a requirement. Both full-timers and part-timers are warmly welcomed here. We offer you... You'll be working on one of Amsterdam's most beautiful canals in an informal, inspiring, and close-knit team of enthusiastic colleagues (our annual team outings are legendary!). We take pride in our high online review scores and the feedback we receive from our guests daily. Our team operates, possibly soon alongside you, in a stimulating work environment, ensuring that no day is ever the same. We’re a little different from the average hotel. We’re located in the heart of the Jordaan, the sassy, smart village in midtown with its exciting art studios, quirky little shops and authentic Amsterdam bars & cafés - where Sundays get as comfy and as quiet as a tiny French town. This is where our founder decided to advertise his bed at the local tourist agency, decades ago…Home away from Home.
People loved it. They flocked. So the couch turned into a room, which turned into two, which expanded into a full floor, then into more floors until even the house next door gave in and became part of the hotel.
Many things have changed over the years. But the good things we kept.
