As a business director your role is to ‘own’ a defined business area and deliver against agreed upon budgets and targets through the effective recruitment, development, deployment and delivery of your people in alignment with our client’s mission, vision and values. By delivering upon agreed targets the Group will be able to continue to grow, invest in its people and positively impact society through the Foundation’s work, therefore a great greenfield entrepreneurial opportunity!  



Responsibilities



Team Leadership:




  • Take responsibility for leading and managing the activities of direct reports/team;

  • Ensure the development of direct reports by having regular 1:1 review meetings, identifying development needs, supporting, and tracking progress against set objectives;

  • Provide effective coaching as required to ensure your direct reports/team can carry out their duties to the best of their ability and encourage a positive working environment;

  • Manage upwards where applicable, participate in and sometimes lead management discussions;

  • Accept responsibility and accountability for the outputs and performance of direct reports/team;

  • Adhere to and follow HR procedures in a timely fashion relating to staff, such as resourcing, performance reviews, absence reporting, annual reviews, payroll submissions and exit arrangements.



Business Delivery:




  • Lead and support managers on client or PSL/pitch meetings and encourage colleagues to work collaboratively in progressing PSL accounts;

  • Establish and reinforce relationships with key clients;

  • Proactively advise clients on new issues and the external environment;

  • Identify untapped business opportunities in the market and build out identified areas;

  • Promote cross selling, information sharing, communication;

  • Be aware of the wider industry, client competitor strategies and market environment, and use this knowledge to direct the teams’ work in consultation with clients;

  • Lead the preparation and presentation of new business pitches;

  • Full responsibility for setting and executing the business strategy, aligned to the Benelux strategy and delivering the business area P&L whilst achieving the controllable profit number and plans for growth.

  • As a Business Director, and a member of the Senior Leadership Team, it’s expected that you’ll espouse the Group values in all that you do;

  • As an effective leader you’re expected to communicate well, motivate the team, own and delegate responsibilities, listen to feedback, and have the flexibility to solve problems in an ever-changing workplace;

  • You’ll be a thought-leader, you’ll always prioritise the bigger picture, think positively and proactively, embrace diversity and be self-aware enough to understand and build upon your strengths and act as a mentor to juniors across the Group business;

Functieeisen

  • Bachelors or master’s degree, preferable in the direction of business economics;

  • 5-10 years’ experience in a similar job;

  • Experience in worldwide consultancy;

  • You master English orally as well as on paper.
