As a Strategic Buyer at Ranpak B.V., located in Eygelshoven, you play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient execution of the entire procurement process. You are the primary commercial contact for internal customers and suppliers, responsible for the availability of products and raw materials at the right time, place, and quality under favorable commercial conditions. You contribute to the continuous improvement and maintenance of purchasing processes while establishing and nurturing optimal customer-supplier relationships. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, your role is pivotal in setting up a solid procurement strategy, fostering value-adding partnerships, securing commercial deals with contracts, ensuring timely deliveries, and improving supplier performance for a dedicated set of commodities. Early involvement in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process is essential to maximize the value from the supply base in favor of Ranpak. You lead robust supplier selection processes for new product introductions or new suppliers, engage in active communication and negotiations with national and international suppliers, and create constructive cooperation with internal stakeholders to determine clear demand. Together with the Operational Buyer, you are responsible for the supplier performance within the dedicated commodities, facilitating supplier escalation as needed.

Required Qualifications and Skills

As a Strategic Buyer at Ranpak B.V., based in Eygelshoven, you are expected to have a clear vision focused on growth and development within the procurement field. You should be able to support the Procurement Manager in elevating the procurement discipline and firmly establishing the Procurement Department. You possess organizational sensitivity, a good degree of persuasiveness, and the traits of a skilled procurement professional: strong negotiation skills, result-oriented, analytical, prioritization, connectivity, problem-solving ability, and the capacity to manage multiple areas simultaneously. Excellent communication skills are crucial, as is the ability to recognize and act on different interests, convincingly and swiftly adapting to various settings and interlocutors. You should have a good ear for listening and adaptability.

• You have completed a technical or commercial bachelor’s degree (HBO/WO)
• You have NEVI 1 and preferably also NEVI 2 certification
• You have at least 3 to 5 years of relevant procurement experience
• You have a proven track record in tactical and strategic procurement in a technical environment
• You take a proactive approach within a multifunctional team
