Project Lead Engineer -DAF

As a Performance Lead Engineer at DAF, you will play a key role in overseeing and executing engine integration activities across multiple engine and after-treatment development projects. In this position, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that performance targets are met by optimizing engine systems and after-treatment processes to align with DAF’s rigorous standards for efficiency, emissions, and reliability. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating Engine Integration Efforts: Oversee the seamless integration of engine components, after-treatment systems, and supporting technologies to ensure optimal performance and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Performance Analysis and Optimization: Conduct detailed analysis on engine performance metrics, including fuel efficiency, emissions, and power output, and identify areas for enhancement.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, testing, and manufacturing, to address technical challenges and implement solutions that improve overall engine performance.
• Project Management: Lead and coordinate activities within each phase of development, from concept to final testing, ensuring timelines are met and project goals are achieved.
• Compliance and Testing: Ensure all integration activities comply with industry regulations and DAF’s internal standards through rigorous testing and validation processes.

• A degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a project (lead) engineer.
• Basic knowledge of engine systems, aftertreatment technologies, and on-board diagnostics.
• Proficiency in English is required.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams is preferred.

The Engine Integration department is responsible for defining, developing, and calibrating engine and aftertreatment families to meet performance and regulatory requirements.

Primary employment conditions

• 13 times a 4-weekly salary based on experience (Up to: €7000 gross per month)
• 8.33% holiday pay calculated over 12 monthly salaries

Contract form

• Minimum one-year contract, with the aim of transitioning to an indefinite contract
