Engine Development Engineer -DAF Trucks

As an Engine Development Engineer, you will be an integral part of a dynamic team dedicated to the initiation, development, and testing of innovative Engine and Aftertreatment Concepts aimed at meeting the stringent regulatory standards of the future. This role places you at the forefront of the evolving automotive industry, where you will contribute to creating cutting-edge technologies that align with emerging environmental and efficiency regulations.

Development Engineer for New Engine Concepts within Concept Development

• Lead the development of new engine concepts powered by Diesel, Hydrogen, or Hybrid (Diesel + ePower) technologies.
• Work closely with other experts to define and shape new engine concepts.
• Serve as an expert in Diesel and Powertrain Technology, contributing to the evolution of advanced engine solutions.
• Engage in the development and optimization of Diesel + Hybrid powertrain concepts.
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure the optimization of powertrain performance.
• Drive the optimization and development of calibration and control strategies for future powertrains.
• Coordinate engine testing and simulation activities within the Concept Development phase.
• Document and analyze test results, tool usage, and identify potential improvements.
• Actively participate in project teams, providing engineering expertise and support.
• Take initiative to continuously improve tools, processes, and methodologies.

As an Engine Development Engineer, you will report directly to the Engineering Supervisor of the Concept Development Team.

Within PACCAR Inc., DAF Trucks Global Engine Development serves as the center of expertise for engine and aftertreatment development. At our state-of-the-art engine development center, we design engine families to meet future regulatory standards for DAF, Peterbilt, and Kenworth trucks. Our engines and trucks are industry-leading products, consistently focused on delivering environmentally friendly solutions with the highest levels of reliability and cost-effectiveness for our customers. The Engine Integration department is responsible for defining, developing, and calibrating engine and aftertreatment families to meet performance and regulatory requirements.

Primary employment conditions

• 13 times a 4-weekly salary based on experience (Up to: €7000 gross per month)
• 8.33% holiday pay calculated over 12 monthly salaries

Contract form

• Minimum one-year contract, with the aim of transitioning to an indefinite contract
