Bar & Restaurant Manager @ The Dude
We’re on the lookout for an exceptional Bar & Restaurant Manager to join our talented team and take The Dude—our bar & restaurant at Via Amsterdam—to the next level. As the Bar & Restaurant Manager, you will be the driving force behind the daily operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly from breakfast service to busy bar nights. You will manage the day-to-day operations, including creating staff schedules, handling supplier relationships, and maintaining stock levels. You’ll monitor the financial performance of the bar and restaurant, controlling costs, maximizing revenue, and analysing key metrics. Additionally, you’ll ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, improve service standards, and bring fresh ideas to the table for new menu items or events.
You’ll lead the team, inspiring them to deliver exceptional service. We’re all about growth and development, so you’ll also play a key role in recruiting, onboarding, and nurturing talent, helping our team members reach their full potential. Their success is your success!
A work day includes:
  • Handling morning and/or evening duties in the breakfast, bar, and restaurant.
  • Leading daily briefings to keep your team informed and ready to deliver exceptional service.
  • Training and mentoring both new and current team members.
  • Creating and managing staff rotas to ensure smooth operations and proper coverage.
  • Placing orders for food & beverage supplies, liaising with suppliers to maintain stock levels.
  • Actively supporting the bar & restaurant team—whether it’s crafting the perfect coffee, pouring the perfect pint, or shaking up a killer cocktail… shake it till you make it, baby! ;)
  • Serving as the go-to contact for (external) events, ensuring smooth coordination.
  • Creating an unforgettable experience for our guests—because their good time is our priority!


You’ll be a great fit if you bring a few of the below with you:
  • Previous experience in a hospitality environment, preferably in a Supervisor or other leadership role.
  • A natural leader and motivator, eager to thrive in a vibrant and dynamic environment.
  • Passionate about on-the-job training, proactively taking the initiative to guide and support the team.
  • Solid product knowledge and barista skills.
  • Hands-on and proactive, with a problem-solving attitude toward any challenges that arise.
  • Innovative thinker with great ideas to enhance service and improve business operations.
  • Fluent in English; a basic understanding of Dutch is a plus but not required.

Via Amsterdam places great emphasis on design and functionality, bringing together the latest technology, service and affordability. The hotel and hostel has 200 bedrooms and 938 beds. All bedrooms are equipped with ensuite facilities and state of the art technology, USB points, high-speed WIFI internet connections, individual lights, ventilation and locker/storage facilities.
