Step into the spotlight at Café Americain — an iconic, Art Deco dining landmark in the heart of Amsterdam’s bustling Leidseplein.
We’re looking for a Chef de Parti who brings passion, precision, and creativity to every plate. From classic European flavours to bold modern twists, you’ll help shape the culinary identity of one of the city’s most storied restaurants.
Clayton Hotel Amsterdam American, part of the Dalata Hotel Group, is a 4-star, 173-room hotel nestled in one of the most beautiful art nouveau buildings in the Netherlands. Home to the legendary Café Americain and stylish Bar Americain, we serve guests from around the world with a culinary experience that’s as memorable as the setting.
Objective of the Role
As Chef de Parti, you’ll run your section with pride, precision, and passion — whether you’re crafting an elegant dinner for two or prepping for a packed-out Friday service. You’ll work closely with a skilled kitchen team to deliver beautifully presented dishes across our food & beverage outlets, including Café Americain and Bar Americain.
With your finger on the pulse of culinary trends and techniques, you’ll help push our menus forward while ensuring every plate meets our high standards of flavour and presentation. This is a hands-on, high-energy role — perfect for chefs who love to create, lead, and grow.
Key Responsibilities
Own Your Station
Prepare and plate dishes to the highest standard, following our recipes, plating guides, and chef’s direction
Keep your section organised, well-stocked, and spotless — even during the busiest services
Lead with Quality
Monitor the quality of every dish — taste, texture, temperature, and presentation
Support consistency across the kitchen and take pride in sending out food you’re proud of
Think Ahead & Stay Prepped
Take charge of mise en place, daily prep, and stock rotation using FIFO and HACCP standards
Flag shortages and help keep our kitchen running smoothly and efficiently
Collaborate & Create
Support your teammates during service
Contribute ideas for new dishes, seasonal menus, and creative garnishes
Keep It Clean & Safe
Follow all food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards — for yourself, your station, and your kitchen
What We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for a Chef de Parti who’s got the skills, energy, and attitude to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen. Here’s what makes a great fit:
Culinary training – MBO Level 2 or higher (or equivalent experience)
Hands-on experience in a professional kitchen environment
Solid knowledge of core cooking techniques and food safety standards
A natural sense of quality and presentation — you care about the details
Strong organisation and time management, especially during busy service
A team player who communicates well and supports others
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Dalata Hotel Group is de meest succesvolle en grootste hotel groep in Ierland, en groeiend in het Verenigd Koninkrijk en continentaal Europa. Wij exploiteren de merken Clayton Hotel & Maldron Hotel samen met een aantal partnerhotels.
