Make a difference as Senior Production Specialist AlliumAs a Senior Production Specialist, you coordinate the global seed production of our Allium varieties. Your goal is to achieve the highest possible quality and yield at an optimal cost. You provide technical cultivation support and maintain regular contact with producers and international colleagues to monitor progress and quality. We are committed to becoming a leading global vegetable company in open field crops, and we invite you to contribute to this ambitious journey.Your key responsibilities include:
  • Coordinating global seed production for Allium varieties;
  • Providing agronomic support and maintaining communication with producers and colleagues;
  • Train and support new employees in crop production protocols;
  • Initiating and managing improvement processes and production trials;
  • Collaborating with R&D, Seed Operations, and Marketing & Sales to optimise seed availability and quality;
  • Establishing optimal production conditions for new varieties and documenting key characteristics;
  • Analysing production data for monitoring and make out of this action plans for improvement
  • Visiting production locations in the Netherlands and abroad.
You will be part of a young, diverse team and report directly to the Crop Production Manager. You will also work closely with the Seed Supply Team on production planning and execution.
What you bring as a future colleague
  • University degree in Plant Sciences or (International) Agribusiness Studies;
  • At least 9 years of experience in a similar or related role in Allium and/or Open Field Crops;
  • A passion for plants and a keen eye for plant health, pests, and diseases;
  • Strong communication skills in English and preferably in Dutch and/or Spanish
  • Analytical, solution-oriented, and well-organised;
  • Experience in mentoring and coaching less experienced colleagues within your team;
  • Willingness to travel within and outside Europe for 7 to 10 weeks a year.
Your affinity with plants are of great value. Your love for plants, agronomic curiosity, and adeptness at "reading" them empowers you to detect crop issues and implement essential actions in collaboration with our producers or international colleagues. You maintain a good overview and you are skilled in planning and organizing. In international interactions with producers and regional colleagues, your adaptability shines as you like to develop in tailoring your approach to diverse cultures and local conditions.Enza Zaden as your employer
