Cirque du Soleil is coming to The Hague soon with the spectacular show Kurios, and you can be part of it! For the period from October 24 to January 5, we are looking for a flexible and energetic kitchen assistant to support the culinary team behind the scenes. Work on an international production (English is therefore a requirement), gain valuable experience in a lively work environment, and experience the magic of a world-famous show up close. Read on!



Staffing agency Manpower is looking for a kitchen assistant for Cirque du Soleil in The Hague.



As a kitchen assistant, you are responsible for:

  • Preparing the cold and hot sections of the kitchen line
  • Weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients according to recipes, using various kitchen equipment and materials
  • Checking preparation and serving areas to comply with applicable hygiene and safety standards
  • Cutting and preparing meats such as beef, veal, ham, pork, and lamb for both hot and cold dishes and sandwiches
  • Preparing various types of meat, fish, poultry, vegetables, and other ingredients for cooking in ovens, grills, fryers, and other kitchen equipment
  • Restocking and maintaining sufficient inventory at workstations for smooth service
  • Following the correct plating and garnishing of all dishes
  • Assisting with closing and cleaning the kitchen at the end of the shift
  • Helping with the setup and breakdown of the kitchen installation

Functie-eisen

  • At least 2 years of practical kitchen experience, or a combination of relevant education and work experience
  • Proficiency in cooking techniques for preparing both small and large quantities of food
  • Able to handle and prepare a wide range of raw and cooked foods
  • Strong understanding of and compliance with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and applicable kitchen rules, procedures, and policies
  • Ensures a clean and hygienic workspace
  • Holding a culinary diploma is a plus
  • Sufficient knowledge of English and Dutch
  • Full availability during the entire period of Cirque’s stay (October 24 – January 5)
