We are supporting a leading engineering firm in their search for a Lead Instrumentation Designer to join their multidisciplinary offshore and energy projects. From large-scale offshore platforms to complex infrastructure systems, you’ll play a key role in designing high-impact technical solutions within an ambitious and collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities:
As Lead Instrumentation Designer, you will:
- Translate complex engineering challenges into practical and buildable instrumentation designs
- Produce technical drawings and documentation to support E/I contractors during implementation
- Design and integrate fire & gas detection, process control, and essential telecom systems
- Collaborate closely with engineers from other disciplines to ensure a fully integrated design
- Safeguard design quality and act as the technical anchor point within the instrumentation scope
- Mentor junior designers and review their work
- Maintain a high-level project overview and deliver under pressure in dynamic project environments
Your Profile:
You are a structured, hands-on designer with leadership skills and a passion for instrumentation. You bring:
- A vocational (MBO) degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in instrumentation design
- Familiarity with Smart Plant Instrumentation and AutoCAD is a plus
- Experience with substation projects is a strong advantage
- Solid knowledge of design codes and classification society standards
- Fluency in Dutch and English, both spoken and written
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead by example in a technical setting
