As GL Accountant, you will be part of the General Ledger Department Internal Reporting Team. In this position, you will be responsible to execute Month End Closing activities processes which support EMEA's Financial Accounting objectives. You will work closely with our Controllers, Financial Planning and Analysis Team, and interact with the General Ledger Department's other teams (Workflow Management and External Reporting), as well as with AP, AR, and MDM departments. You will challenge the status quo and contribute to the continuous improvement and (semi-) automation of our processes and activities.

As the FSSC is continuously improving and changing, you may also take on other GL tasks. To further develop your skills, job and/or task rotation within the GL teams will be supported.

  • Responsible for month end activities and month end journal entries for assigned processes/entities.
  • Support with quarterly reporting for group consolidation.
  • Ensures that all assigned balance sheet accounts are reconciled in a timely manner.
  • Participate in various improvement projects within the FSSC.
  • Enhance existing processes and help your manager to develop continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the most efficient completion of duties.
  • Contribute to the preparatory work and implementation of S4 HANA.
  • Other ad hoc support to the department.

  • Fluent English skills (also preferably one other EU language)
  • Bachelor degree or higher, or work experience at this level
  • 5+ years of professional experience in GL Functions
  • ERP system experience (preferably SAP)
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • You easily visualize and think in processes, understand how your activities and actions influence other processes, and other (finance) departments
