We’re supporting a well-established Dutch renewable energy developer in their search for a Project Director to lead the execution of high-impact energy infrastructure projects across the Netherlands. With a growing pipeline of wind, solar, and grid-related projects, the company plays a key role in delivering the Dutch energy transition.

This is a unique opportunity to take full leadership over complex, multidisciplinary projects—combining your technical insight, stakeholder skills, and commercial acumen to deliver sustainable results.


Your Responsibilities

As Project Director, you will:

  • Take full ownership of utility-scale renewable energy projects across the Netherlands (wind, solar, battery, or grid infrastructure)
  • Lead cross-functional project teams across engineering, construction, permitting, finance, legal, and HSE
  • Engage with municipalities, grid operators, environmental stakeholders, and contractors to ensure successful project delivery
  • Be accountable for project planning, budgeting, execution, and reporting from late development phase to completion
  • Maintain oversight of timelines, compliance, quality, and risk—keeping delivery on track and aligned with strategic objectives
  • Represent the project internally and externally at senior level, providing leadership across the board
  • Support internal decision-making and help strengthen Dutch project delivery capabilities across the business


Your Profile

You are a seasoned Dutch project leader who thrives in technically complex environments and can bring structure, clarity, and momentum to major infrastructure projects.

You bring:

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in project management or project direction in the Dutch infrastructure or energy domain
  • Experience delivering multidisciplinary projects with budgets of €50M+
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders (e.g. contractors, netbeheerders, gemeente, Omgevingsdienst)
  • Solid understanding of Dutch regulatory frameworks, permits, and tender processes
  • Excellent people leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Dutch and English fluency required
  • Based in or open to working from Rotterdam / Randstad region with site travel as needed
