About Lab Associates
Lab Associates is a one-stop-shop for its international target group of plant (scientific) laboratories and plant manufacturing and processing industries in over 65 countries. We can build and equip a complete laboratory with our partners. Our focus is on core products such as automated systems, sterilization of liquid substances ('media'), dosing/filling devices, culture vessels, growth racks and growth systems, in addition to other laboratory equipment and tools, furniture, bio-chemicals and gelling agents (e.g. agar).

Currently we are expanding our R&D team and are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated mechanical, mechatronic or robotics engineer to design and develop innovative mechatronic systems. Besides strengthening our leading market position in plant tissue culture laboratories we want to extend further our applications of automated sterilization and dispensing systems and pick & place robots to other industries as well. As part of the R&D team you will contribute to both mechatronic and software development from ideation to validated prototyping.

Responsibilities
- Creating both innovative concepts and detailed mechanical designs.
- For mechatronic development of new products using tools like CAD, 3D printing prototyping, developing software.
- Building prototypes, testing and verification to ready to market launch in close contact with suppliers and customers.
- Keeping up to date with state-of-the-art technology in the field of mechatronics taking into account customer requirements and applicable standards.
- Contributing in risk assessments and documentation as part of certification of conformity of developed systems.
- Supporting sales in product customization to customer needs and technical quotations.
- Supporting maintenance and service engineers in further development and troubleshooting of current product portfolio.
You will report to the Manager Technology that leads Technical Services and R&D team.
What do we ask?
- Bachelor degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering or comparable working experience.
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in product development of robotics where you bring expertise in this field of technology.
- Qualified to design with CAD software.
- Independent and reliable work attitude.
- Creative mindset in designing innovative machines together with a team.
- You like challenges and have a hands-on mentality to solve challenging technical issues with a structured approach.
- Fluent in English spoken and written, proficiency in Dutch is a plus.
- Strong communication with different cultural backgrounds in an globally operating company
- Willing to travel occasionally.
