JOB MISSION:
The Retail Director, EMEA is responsible for developing an ambitious, and brand focused, retail strategy across the EMEA Region. New Balance has embarked upon an ambitious retail expansion strategy across Full price, Outlet, and Partner stores. This important pillar of the business growth is aimed to deliver a commercial presence, whilst ensuring the brand presentation reflects the business ambitions and brand messages. This extends to our key product growth areas, where retail supports the ambitions of the broader business by creating meaningful expressions to create visibility and awareness to consumers. We strive to deliver a best in class experience, which is consumer obsessed in our plans and retail operations.
This role will require regular travel across Europe. We offer hybrid working and a flexibility to working hours to accommodate for a healthy work life balance.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Ownership of the Financial objectives and performance of the Retail business, including full P&L accountabilityInterpreting the global strategy, to deliver a regional planValues driven leadership to build a high performing team which will support the ambitions and plans of retail growthBuild and define an expansion roadmap which capitalises on the best opportunities, and alignment with the overall retail Global plansDefine and ensure strong delivery of a retail strategy which balances both Brand and commercial objectivesCollaborate with Global and Regional teams to ensure we develop best in class store concepts, and retail operationsDefine plans and priorities deliverables against a best in class experience, considering the focus against growth in key product areasDrive an analytical approach, leveraging data to identify challenges and opportunities across the Retail businessLeveraging external, and 3rd party data, to support the analysis of business decisions and opportunitiesPartner with retail technology to define the requirements to support the business solutions, in both store operations, and consumer experienceDefine Omnichannel priorities and initiatives alongside the Omnichannel Experience ManagerPartnering with regional Retail marketing to ensure a strong activation plan for both new and existing storesDefine requirements and partnering with Buying, Planning and Allocation team to ensure the stores have the right ranges bought, with the right stock levels, at the right timeHave oversight of a retail refit and maintenance strategy that ensures that the stores remain strong presentationsEnsure the team is focussed against delivering a training programme which aligns to both global directives, and local needsPartner with the logistics team to define solutions which provide retail locations with cost effective, and retail optimised solutionsPartner with finance to analyse and understand the business performance, and associated costs, to identify opportunities to drive growth top and bottom lineDetermine the optimal Partner strategy for the region, with oversight over the existing retail partners to deliver a consistent brand experienceEnsure that across the region, leadership are aware of our key priorities and objectives for our retail brand presenceMaximise the opportunity for retail at events and brand moments through expos, pop-ups etcREQUIREMENTS:
Extensive experience within the retail industry in the local EMEA marketProven experience developing and leading business strategy in a retail environmentDynamic, with an ability to build business foundationsResults driven leaderData driven, and consumer obsessedAbility to define clear business priorities, and solid business plans to deliver theseExperience building, and developing, high performing teamsHighly collaborative with the ability to build relationships, influence, and work cross-functionally to deliver the solutions and needs for Retail to succeedAn effective communicator in both written and verbal forms, including presentations to larger and senior audiencesAble to travel UK and Europe on a regular basis, alongside occasional International travel.Fluent in English is essential and other European language would be advantageous.BENEFITS:
