MAIN PURPOSE
Rituals is looking for an enthusiastic intern to join the Innovation team at the Rituals office in Amsterdam. The responsibility of the innovation team is to deliver successful innovative products that provide continued commercial value for Rituals. We bring hundreds of new products to the market each year and we ensure that our existing product portfolio is continuously updated to best in class technology to deliver exciting and sustainable products and concepts.
During this internship you will be part of the Global Assortment, Pricing and Insight team. This role has 2 related but differentiated aspects:
Assortment: This team serves as the central link between the Category teams and the Lines of Business. Working closely with Supply Chain and Format & Design, we collaboratively define the assortment for different markets.
Pricing: Prices at Rituals are managed centrally from our Amsterdam office and this consists of strategic price decisions made together with other departments as well as an intense operational aspect. This role will bring great exposure to Innovation as well as different areas of the company like Finance, Retail, Markets and our different lines of business (LOBs).
Due to the dynamic environment of Rituals, there are many tasks and projects that can be tackled during the internship.
RESPONSIBILITIES – Assortment:
- Ensure optimal assortment selection, and strategic distribution planning across channels and regions.
- Collaborate with Product Managers to create presentations about product innovations and distribution.
- Actively participate in assortment meetings, support optimization projects (e.g., APAC and Outlet), and work closely with the Data team.
- Maintain and update the Distribution Matrix and Year plan, keeping stakeholders informed on product launches.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Pricing:
- Pricing operations:
- Learn the pricing process at Rituals, how things are priced and how we maintain them in our different systems and files.
- Handle requests from Markets or other teams who need pricing support
- Coordinate changes with Markets, LOBs and Data Entry team.
- Pricing project: Rituals is implementing a new software to replace the old way of working based on Excel and bring pricing to the next level. These requires connecting with the technical teams who drive the project and translating their needs into actions like testing different scenarios to validate the correct functioning of the software, writing scripts to prepare the testing and communicating with other teams involved where needed.
Both internal-and external stakeholder management is a huge part of your job.
Other than the above-mentioned responsibilities, there is the opportunity to learn about the more strategic aspects of Pricing and Assortment in this role.
Qualifications
- HBO/WO student in any Business-related field (e.g. Business Administration Hotelschool, Economics).
- Has a like for numbers with strong analytical skills in Excel (advanced user).
- Able to handle 2 different topics throughout the internship: Assortment and Pricing.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong stakeholder, communication and relationship management capabilities.
- Eager to learn, able to think out-of-the-box and curious to investigate and provide further continuous improvements to existing processes.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
- Good use of MS office: Outlook, PowerPoint and advanced Excel.
