Plug & play entry level hopper dredge installation for upgrading existing/smaller vessels

Royal IHC designs and delivers integrated hopper dredging solutions for vessels which are new built or upgraded. The dredging system concerns the integration of a draghead, suction tube, pump and other relevant components for slurification and transport of slurry.

Background:

Some IHC clients are interested in upgrading an existing vessel/barge to a hopper dredger. This specifically concerns clients with a smaller budget or requirement level. The entry level solution for a hopper dredge installation of IHC is currently quite high and advanced, however, IHC wants to extend its portfolio to serve the specific mentioned group of clients as well, by providing a cheaper, easier more plug & play solution.

Requirement:

This assignment concerns a general concept study, and is especially relevant for the expertise of “sales/concept engineering”.

The following tasks/questions are foreseen:

  • Provide an overview of what components are required to design and deliver such cheaper, easier and more plug & play solution.What components are required?What needs to be done differently compared to the current ‘standard’ solution?What is base-case required and what can be considered an option?
