PLM application specialist

You as the new IT PLM application specialist, will be included in the development group of our PLM team. You will mainly focus on translating business requirements to functional IT solutions for programming and configuring by our developers in our IT landscape. In this role, you work closely with the other PLM application specialists in your agile scrum team and together with business stakeholders. Therefore, very strong communication and consultancy skills are required.

Marel is currently in a big digital transformation and of course, IT plays a major role in this transformation. Since last year, the PLM team is, next to our product lifecycle management (PLM for short), responsible for the Digital product highway, the support and roll out to users. This product highway will be the product data backbone of Marel and it will connect all the used applications as one single source. The biggest project for 2024 will be replacing our current Oracle PLM e6 by Dassault.

What you'll be doing

The PLM team is an internationally oriented team and globally responsible for the Digital product highway, PLM solutions, other applications, and migrations. The team works every day on keeping the applications running smoothly. Next to that, we also are responsible for the development of new and/or enhanced functionality for these applications and its many connectors to other applications used in Marel. This means, among other things, that new features are developed, programmed and system maintenance is a standard part of our job. This position will focus on the translation of business requests to IT solutions while ensuring IT requirements are included. Also:

  • Translate, as consultant, business requirements to technical IT development solutions;
  • Be a direct sparring partner for product owners, application managers and solution architect;
  • Configure, implement or integrate (new) applications/functionality together with programmers;
  • Work in an Agile Scrum method.

    • What kind of a person are we looking for?

    You will recognize in yourself that you have the following competences:

  • You have a completed technical or business education and have a Bachelor degree.
  • You consider yourself to be a very strong communicator and are very active in building up a strong network.
  • Or you have 3 or more years of experience in a technical role in which you have configured/programmed, installed and/or updated complex PLM software.
  • Experience in developing and configuring in PLM/PDM applications like Dassault is an advantage.
  • Azure, GIT-software knowledge is an advantage.
  • High skill level in the English language.
