Description

Next generations of semiconductor machines require continuous improvements in performance and reliability. Advanced motion control is an important enabler of further performance improvements of these machines. As a medior or senior control systems engineer at the ASMPT Center of Competency, you will play a critical role in development, evaluation and testing of advanced control technologies for a broad product portfolio, consisting of diverse machines for wire-bonding, die-bonding, IC inspection, etc.

Responsibilities and activities

  • All-round player in different control engineering technologies, such as system modelling, simulation, identification, setpoint generation, control design, experimental implementation and testing.
  • Contribute to innovations in control engineering by active collaboration with professionals from ASMPT, academia and commercial companies.
  • Ability to effectively operate in various phases of innovative technical projects, from gathering the requirements, via control system development, up to rolling out innovations into commercial products.
  • Technical coaching of junior colleagues, student internships and postgraduate students in coordination with technical management of ASMPT.
  • Professional documenting and presenting of technical innovations.
  • Develop and execute technical trainings on control technologies for the ASMPT audiences.

  • Job requirements

  • MSc or PhD in control technology and related mechatronics fields received at mechanical or electrical engineering department.
  • Medior candidates (3-5 years work experience) and senior candidates (6-10 years work experience) are welcome to aply to this position.
  • Knowledge and experience with system modeling, simulation, control theories, system identification, control design, mechatronics engineering, and systems engineering in general.
  • Experience with MATLAB and Simulink; knowledge of Simscape and Simscape Multibody is a plus.
  • Development, simulation, implementation and testing of control algorithms (system identification, feedback and feedforward control).
  • Knowledge of advanced control methodologies, e.g., MIMO system identification and control, learning control, nonlinear system modeling and control, is a plus.
  • Knowledge of C/C++ is a plus.
  • Experience with systems for rapid control prototyping, such as SpeedGoat, dSPACE, LabView, or Beckhoff EtherCAT is a plus.
  • Knowledge of discrete-time signal processing is a plus.
  • Knowledge of setpoint generation is a plus.

  • What we offer

A young, dynamic, multi-disciplinary and international organization with challenging projects in the semiconductor industry. We offer excellent employee benefits. We value independent thinking and individual effort, but even more, we value teamwork. ASMPT focusses on your personal development by providing a training and development programs. In addition, you will have the opportunity to visit other ASMPT locations in Hong Kong and Singapore and our customer sites in Europe, Asia and U.S.
