Are you an experienced procurement professional with
a strategic mindset? Do you have a passion for optimizing sourcing
strategies and supplier relationships? Then this role as Category
Manager Indirect Materials could be your next
challenge!

As a Category Manager, you will be
responsible for the procurement of technical equipment, automation,
and MRO (maintenance, repair, and operations) supplies. You will
develop and implement sourcing strategies while working closely
with internal stakeholders and staying ahead of market
trends.

In this role, you will oversee all
procurement processes related to your assigned categories,
including:

  • Category analysis:
    Conducting risk assessments, supplier evaluations, and developing
    KPI-driven strategic objectives.
  • Strategic
    planning: Defining mid- and long-term procurement strategies in
    collaboration with internal
    stakeholders.
  • Optimization & efficiency:
    Implementing measures to enhance competition, ensure supply
    security, increase efficiency, and identify cost-saving
    opportunities.
  • Market intelligence: Monitoring
    trends, conducting market and supplier analyses, and staying ahead
    of industry developments.
  • Supplier management:
    Identifying, evaluating, and developing suppliers while managing
    approval processes and segmentation.
  • Contract
    management: Leading tender processes, negotiating contracts, and
    ensuring legal and procurement
    compliance.
  • Supplier relationship management:
    Acting as the primary contact for strategic suppliers and handling
    escalations.
  • Reporting & compliance:
    Providing management reports on procurement activities and ensuring
    adherence to legal and internal
    regulations.
  • Collaboration: Supporting
    operational procurement processes and covering for other category
    managers when needed.


Functie-eisen />
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in strategic
    procurement, preferably in technical purchasing within direct or
    indirect procurement.
  • Strong understanding of
    MM procurement modules (SAP S4/HANA knowledge is a
    plus).
  • Basic knowledge of contract law and
    procurement regulations.
  • Fluent in English
    (spoken and written); German/Dutch is a
    plus.
  • Proactive and self-driven with a strong
    sense of initiative.
  • Analytical mindset with a
    focus on continuous improvement.
  • Strong
    negotiation and stakeholder management
    skills.
  • Adaptable and able to work effectively
    in different situations and with diverse
    teams.
