Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Procurement Engineer to join our team, specializing in offshore cable installation services (e.g., Cable Termination & Testing and Trenching Services). The successful candidate will be responsible for procuring these crucial offshore services, ensuring they meet our high standards of quality and efficiency. This role requires a deep understanding of offshore commissioning works, service contracts, and the maritime sector.

  • You will oversee procurement of various offshore services including but not limited to Cable Termination & Testing (T&T) and Trenching services.

  • Identify, evaluate, and propose suppliers.

  • Negotiate and manage service contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness and compliance with DEME standards.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with service providers to secure the best terms and conditions.

  • Oversee the procurement process for offshore commissioning works, ensuring timely and quality service delivery.

  • Coordinate with offshore teams to facilitate smooth operations and service execution.

  • Gain hands-on offshore experience, although not mandatory, to better understand service delivery and operational challenges.

  • Monitor and manage service contracts, ensuring all contractual obligations are met.

  • Resolve any issues related to service delivery, working closely with suppliers and internal teams.

  • Conduct performance evaluations of suppliers and take corrective actions as necessary.

  • Work closely with the Tender Package Manager and other stakeholders to align procurement strategies with project goals.

  • Ensure seamless communication and coordination between onshore and offshore teams.

  • You hold a master’s degree in engineering, industrial engineering or management and have at least 5 years of proven experience in procurement and contract negotiations.

  • Proven experience in procurement, and/or in offshore commissioning works.

  • Strong understanding of the maritime sector and offshore service contracts.

  • Strategic thinking with the ability to manage complex procurement processes.

  • Strong analytical skills to assess supplier performance and contract compliance.

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.

  • Proactive and adaptable, able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality in all procurement activities.

  • Willingness to occasionally travel offshore to oversee service implementation (optional).
