Job Description

SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Performs intensive and diversified technical work such as the design, manufacture and operation of structures, machines and systems while completing projects in broad areas of assignment.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED

  • Develops new products, removes barriers to achieving objectives, and provides managerial and technical support to assist others to achieve their assigned tasks.

  • Conducts complete and conceptually related studies to approach technical problems, whereas the problems are difficult to define, require unconventional or novel approaches and require sophisticated research techniques.

  • Contributes inventions, new designs or techniques which are of material significance in the solution of specific problems.

  • Keeps abreast of new scientific method and developments affecting the organization for the purpose of recommending changes in emphasis of programs or new design programs warranted by such developments.

  • Interfaces closely with customers and suppliers in defining and developing new technologies and products.

  • Manages multiple product development projects to assure timely delivery of new or improved products which meet user needs.

  • Performs other related duties and tasks as required.

    • SUMMARY OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Educational and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or technical field related to the department of assignment or industry with six years previous related experience, a Master's Degree with four years previous related experience, or a with two years previous related experience. A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required for this position.
  • Ability to independently apply analytical skills and scientific technical principles in problem solving and development.
  • Demonstrated computer skills preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database and other applicable software programs.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to work effectively as a team member.
