Role OverviewTECS is seeking a tech-savvy IT System Engineer / System Administrator to join their team in Milan or Hoofddorp. This strategic hire will combine IT operations with innovation leadership, supporting users primarily in Italy, Germany, and the Netherlands. The role places a stronger emphasis on data engineering and Power BI analytics for business users, alongside core system administration and IT support tasks. Key Responsibilities
Manage IT infrastructure, networks, and user environments in compliance with cybersecurity standards, including automated NAS cloud synchronization.
Develop, support, and improve Microsoft 365 applications with a focus on Power BI, SharePoint, Teams, and Exchange Online.
Provide IT support including deployment, installation, and troubleshooting of laptops and hardware, mainly for cross-border business users.
Assist with ERP systems, preferably with experience in Odoo.
Maintain and optimize remote access tools such as Cisco AnyConnect and TeamViewer for secure and efficient support.
Support engineering teams with tools like Eplan, ensuring integration with business processes and automation where possible.
Monitor, maintain, and upgrade systems for peak performance and security.
Collaborate with users and teams to translate technical challenges into business solutions, focusing on driving data-driven decision-making.
Stay current with technological trends, particularly in data engineering, cloud solutions (Azure preferred), and IT security, proposing innovations to future-proof the organization.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or higher in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
3–5 years experience as a System Engineer, System Administrator, or similar role.
Proven expertise in Microsoft 365, with strong skills in Power BI and related data analytics.
Experience with system administration, networking, endpoint management, and cloud services, preferably Microsoft Azure.
Familiarity with Cisco AnyConnect VPN, TeamViewer remote support, and Eplan engineering software.
Knowledge of Odoo ERP is a plus.
Solid understanding of cybersecurity best practices and compliance.
Hands-on experience with laptop/desktop deployment and troubleshooting (Windows, MacOS).
Fluent English communication skills for collaboration with international teams.
Proactive, curious, and enthusiastic about learning new technologies and enhancing business processes through IT.
