A Day in the Life

As a Room Attendant at Rosewood Amsterdam, your day begins by receiving your assignments and preparing your trolley with all necessary supplies. You’ll move through the hotel with precision, cleaning and maintaining guest rooms to the highest standards. Creating welcoming atmospheres in guest rooms, your attention to detail will shine. Whether handling guest requests, restocking supplies, or reporting maintenance needs, your role is pivotal in creating an environment of comfort and elegance. At the end of your shift, you’ll take pride in knowing you’ve contributed to a luxurious and memorable guest experience.

Job Summary

The Room Attendant ensures the cleanliness, comfort, and overall upkeep of guest rooms. This role is key to delivering an exceptional stay for guests by maintaining Rosewood’s high standards of tidiness, attention to detail, and personalized service.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience:

  • Provide courteous and professional service to all guests and colleagues.
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to their requests.
  • Maintain positive guest and colleague interactions, fostering strong relationships.
  • Contribute to the collective commitment of creating a unique and welcoming guest experience.

Operational Excellence:

  • Clean guest rooms in accordance with Rosewood standards and service sequences.
  • Replenish room supplies and ensure rooms are ready for guest arrival.
  • Handle equipment responsibly, keeping trolleys and supplies neat and organized.
  • Document and report any maintenance needs or damages to the appropriate departments.
  • Monitor and report room discrepancies, including sleep-outs, extra departures, or rooms with “Do Not Disturb” signs.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain the confidentiality of guest information.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with the housekeeping team to support a smooth and efficient operation.
  • Participate in daily briefings and communicate updates or special instructions effectively.
  • Report any found items to Security and Housekeeping immediately.
  • Assist new team members by providing guidance and support.

Standards and Compliance:

  • Follow all Rosewood company policies, including those outlined in the Associate Handbook and Confidentiality Code of Conduct.
  • Maintain a professional appearance in compliance with grooming standards.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and fire regulations while performing duties.

Skills & Qualifications

Experience:

  • Previous housekeeping experience in a luxury hotel is required.

Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in all tasks.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic work environment and varied schedules.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, with the ability to anticipate guest needs.

Personal Qualities:

  • A positive, can-do attitude and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Team-oriented, punctual, and self-motivated.
  • High standards of grooming, hygiene, and professional appearance.
