Position: CBG AI Standardisation and Industry Development Engineer
Location: EU-SID CBG Dept, and be at Huawei Amsterdam Research Centre
Job Overview:
We are looking for an AI Standards & Industry Development Engineer to join the CBG Standards & Industry Development Department in Europe. The role focuses on artificial intelligence-related regulations, standardisation, and industrial and technological trends, aiming to support Huawei CBG’s ecosystem building in AI-driven products and services.
Main Responsibilities:
- Standardisation: Represent Huawei CBG in major European and international AI standardisation bodies and industry alliances (e.g., ISO/IEC/ITU, CEN-CENELEC, ETSI, IEEE, and AI-focused consortia in Europe).
- Policy and Regulation: Continuously monitor EU and global AI regulations and standards development (EU AI Act, data governance, privacy frameworks, cybersecurity, ethics) and provide compliance/impact analyses.
- Technical Insights: Identify and evaluate AI-related core enabling technologies, including machine learning frameworks, foundation models, edge AI, and trustworthy AI mechanisms, to support CBG’s product roadmaps.
- Industry and Ecosystem Collaboration: Build and manage relationships with European partners, research institutions, and start-ups to promote AI application pilots for consumer products and services.
- Business Strategy: Work closely with CBG European and HQ departments for strategy alignment, internal reporting, and external presentations, increasing CBG business impacts in Europe.
- Event Support: Support EU-SID CBG events, summits, and workshops on AI-related events, for ecosystem development.
Competency Requirements:
- Educational Background: Master’s degree or PhD in AI, Computer Science, Data Science, or related fields.
- Standardisation and Regulation: Familiar with EU and international AI standards, regulatory frameworks, European policies, and certification schemes.
- Technical Competence: Profound understanding of AI model development, deployment, and lifecycle management, with good experience with mainstream LLMs and AI protocols (such as MCP, A2A, etc).
- Insights: Ability to produce high-quality insight reports on AI and relevant technologies, as well as being able to analyse policies, market trends, and being good at presentations.
- Communication Skills: Strong internal and external communication skills; comfortable working in multicultural and cross-functional teams.
- Language Skills: English is the working language (both spoken and written), and proficiency in Chinese is preferred.
