Product development engineer

Position Overview:

We are supporting a growing Dutch Medical Device organisation in the search for a Product Development Engineer. The successful candidate will drive the design, development, and continuous improvement of their medical products.

Areas of Responsibility

• Lead the design and development of syringes, ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards for the medical device industry.
• Utilise expertise in plastic injection moulding techniques to optimise product manufacturability and performance.
• Develop innovative solutions and create prototypes to meet evolving market and customer needs.
• Ensure all products comply with relevant medical device regulations, including ISO 13485 and FDA requirements.
• Work as part of interdisciplinary teams to bring new products from concept to commercialisation.
• Address technical challenges during product development and production, implementing effective solutions.
• Maintain thorough records of design processes, testing, and development activities to support regulatory submissions.
• Guide junior team members, sharing technical expertise and fostering professional growth within the R&D team.

Requirements

• 5 - 10 years of experience working as an all-round product development engineer in a technical environment
• Experience working with CAD modelling software and strong 2D technical drawing skills
• Experience performing tolerance analyses and working with manufacturing techniques like injection moulding, CNC/milling/turning
• Analytical way of thinking/working
• Strong communication and presentation skills, in English & Dutch
• Experience working in a structured, procedurally driven environment
• Experience working in a regulated (medical) industry (ISO9001 and/or ISO 13485)
