Introduction

Combine technical insight with commercial sense in an international maritime environment? Heatmaster develops and supplies high-quality heating systems for the maritime sector worldwide. In this role you will represent our technology to ship owners, designers and shipyards - with a focus on customer-oriented design, technical feasibility and sustainable solutions.

As Sales Engineer / Area Sales Manager, you are the technical-commercial point of contact for our partners in Southern Europe and Scandinavia and translate customer requirements into concrete technical proposals.


Function

In this position, you are responsible for analyzing customer needs and filling those needs technically. You think about standardization and customer-specific designs, make calculations and are a liaison between customers, suppliers and internal engineers. You know better than anyone how to convert a need into a reliable, efficient and sustainable heating system. The emphasis is on the early project phases: you inventory, advise and guide. You combine commercial flair with technical depth and know how to convince our customers with well thought-out, workable solutions.

  • Analyze customer requirements and translate them into technical designs
  • Preparation of quotations, calculations and (preliminary) system configurations
  • Maintain and build relationships with ship owners, designers and shipyards
  • Coordinate with suppliers on technical capabilities and component choices
  • Manage ongoing customer processes and monitor technical scope
  • Balancing standardization and customization in collaboration with engineering
  • Support the tender process with technical input and simulations
  • Advising customers on sustainable, innovative heating solutions
  • Coordinate stakeholder interests within international projects

Who are you

You are a technically savvy professional who thinks customer-oriented, shifts gears quickly and converts complex technical challenges into clear solutions. You combine analytical skills with a commercial attitude and enjoy building and maintaining relationships worldwide.

  • Bachelor's or WO degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Energy Engineering
  • Experience or affinity with sales engineering or technical-commercial work
  • Familiar with AutoCAD or similar drawing and design programs
  • Communication skills in English (knowledge of other European languages is a plus)
  • Experience reading technical specifications and drawings
  • Customer-oriented, independent and proactive
  • Willing to travel internationally (on a limited basis)
  • Both entry-level and experienced engineers are invited to respond
  • you already live in the Netherlands
