General ledger accountant

As a General Ledger Accountant, you will be part of our global accounting team, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately, timely, and in compliance with internal and external requirements. You will manage bookkeeping, general ledger entries, reconciliations, and support both local and international entities.

Scope of work:

• Maintain and post general ledger entries accurately and completely.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, subledgers, and balance sheets monthly, quarterly, and annually.
• Record and monitor purchase invoices, expense reports, accounts receivable, and payments.
• Processing bank transactions, and cash flow reconciliations.
• Prepare and support VAT and other tax returns.
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and supporting inquiries.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and management to maintain accurate financial data.

We ask:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in general ledger, bookkeeping, or financial accounting roles.
• Practical knowledge of Dutch GAAP and local accounting standards.
• Experience with international accounting or multi-entity bookkeeping is a plus.
• Proactive, hands-on, detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills.
• Proficiency in English; Dutch is a plus.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Affinity with ERP systems and accounting software.
• Ability to work independently and as part of an international team.
