We’re supporting a leading telecom company in the Netherlands in hiring a Senior Linux Engineer to strengthen their Linux/Unix team. This is a chance to work with modern technologies, drive automation, and help shape infrastructure that supports thousands of colleagues and millions of customers.


You’ll combine day-to-day operational excellence with opportunities to design, build, and improve systems. It’s a role where your expertise, creativity, and initiative will directly influence how infrastructure is delivered and secured.


Your Day-to-Day

  • Manage and enhance Linux/Unix platforms, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Build and expand systems and platforms, while keeping existing infrastructure running smoothly.
  • Automate processes to improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Deliver infrastructure services to internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Take part in lifecycle management of systems and software.
  • Collaborate in Agile/Scrum environments to deliver solutions that are maintainable and future-proof.
  • Share knowledge openly and support colleagues to grow alongside you.


What You Bring

  • 5–7 years of hands-on experience as a Linux administrator or engineer.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux (Debian, Red Hat, or similar distributions).
  • Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash, PHP, Ruby, Python, or Go).
  • Experience with Puppet, CI/CD pipelines, CMDB, and Git.
  • Familiarity with services such as Apache, Tomcat, MySQL, RabbitMQ, Redis, and Elastic Stack.
  • Understanding of security protocols such as Kerberos, LDAP, and Radius.
  • Solid grasp of container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
  • General networking knowledge (firewalls, load balancers, routing).
  • Bonus points if you’ve worked with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) or SAN storage systems.
