Our vision: to become the global leader in high-volume financial control, not just through tools, but by building a data-driven operating system for the modern finance function. The key value we bring to customers is a combination of peace of mind, spotting revenue leakage, faster & more accurate FinOps processes and real-time insights leading to actionable decisions. This vision entails making truthful, reliable data actionable and enabling embedded accounting, payouts, and billing, for example

The opportunity

We’re hiring our first full time Product owner to lead the charge on product development, usability, and customer impact.

You’ll work at the intersection of engineering, customer success and leadership, and you’ll be responsible for making the Actuals platform more self-service, scalable and loved by finance professionals and beyond. This is a pivotal role as we move from strong tech + founder-driven product towards a more scalable, fully self service, SaaS platform.

The starting point

We’ve validated the product over the last few years with multiple international high-volume customers across Europe & North America, proven we can deliver measurable financial control and built a flexible platform that handles real-world complexity. Our product sits at the heart of the financial engine for high-growth companies. Getting it right has huge implications for trust, accuracy and control. Our tech is strong and our 36 customers are sticky.

Now we’re ready for the next level: making the Actuals platform more intuitive, scalable, and accessible to finance, accounting and payments teams of all sizes. You’ll help us evolve from a high-touch, expert-led solution to a product-led platform that users love from day one. This means:

- Turning powerful workflows into beautifully simple UX

- Moving from bespoke onboarding to self-service product experiences

- Together with the CTO, CEO and Product Lead Vision & Innovation, define the roadmap to scale from dozens to hundreds of customers

- Laying the product management foundations: metrics, rituals, processes, and iteration loops

- Partnering closely with engineering and other teams to ship high-impact improvements fast and reliably

- Design from first principles: We're not shipping surface-level features, we're rethinking how finance data flows and how teams collaborate on truth

- You won’t just inherit a backlog, you’ll shape how product is done here. From roadmap to rituals

- You’ll grow as fast as we do

What you’ll build and own

- Strategy & roadmap

o Define and drive the end-to-end product vision together with the CTO and CEO, while collaborating closely with our Product Lead Vision & Innovation (who owns the roadmap for visionary features).

o Translate business goals, audit insights and user feedback into a clear, actionable and customer-facing product roadmap.

o Take ownership of prioritisation and balance between customer needs, tech foundation, forward-looking innovation and commercial opportunities.

o Ensure alignment between the visionary roadmap and the day-to-day product development that delivers value to customers.

- Product delivery

o Build and run a high-velocity product development process: discovery , documentation, delivery, iteration

o Create (additional) structure around planning, sprinting, UX, QA and post-release validation (even in a lean environment)

o Own go-to-market readiness for new features in partnership with GTM team

o Collaborate with GTM team on product analytics, NPS and usability KPIs

- Team

o Act as the glue between engineering and GTM team

o Coach team members across departments on product thinking and prioritisation

o Lay the groundwork for future hiring: UI/UX designers or junior PMs as the company scales

What you bring

- Minimum requirements

o 5-8 years of product experience, including 2+ years in a senior or lead product role at a FinTech company.

o Knowledge and understanding of finance and accountancy terminology like ledgers and journal entries

o Excellent communication skills. You turn ambiguity into structure and decisions into alignment

o Experience working cross-functionally with engineers, designers and commercial stakeholders

o Proven ability to prioritise ruthlessly, focus on impact, and manage product delivery in resource-constrained environments

o Highly motivated to reach out to end users continuously for feedback

o Fluent in English, Dutch is a plus
