FunctieomschrijvingOversee the finance and accounting functions for the entire organization in the Benelux. Ensure sufficient internal control and full compliance of company policies. Act as business partner for Country Manager and the country management team to provide required financial information and professional advice. Responsible for producing accurate and timely financial information to drive critical business decisions. Initiate projects for cost controls, process improvement and improvement of operation productivity.
TASKS and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and manage all financial reporting and accounting activities for the business unit
Oversee month-end closing, payments, collections, financial analysis, and budgeting
Provide accurate financial reports and insights to management
Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX, US GAAP, and local GAAP/tax regulations
Act as main finance contact for corporate, regional, local teams, auditors, and banks
Drive continuous improvement in forecasting, reporting, and controlling processes
Develop and implement financial systems and reporting tools based on business needs
Create KPI dashboards and conduct regular performance reviews with business partners
Analyze profitability of new projects, developments, and initiatives
Lead, coach, and develop finance team; manage performance and succession planning
Prepare and monitor annual budget; report results monthly to achieve financial targets
Liaise with internal and external auditors
Ensure timely and compliant submission of tax returns
Initiate and implement process enhancements and best practices across functions

Bachelor degree in finance, accounting or business or equivalent
CPA with Master Degree in Business Administration preferred
Experience & knowledge:
At least ten (10) years of accounting experience with at least four (4) years in management position and preferable in multinational corporations.
Experience and knowledge of international freight forwarding industry preferred
Extensive knowledge of NL & US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Advanced skills in MS Office
