student who wants to conduct research using the latest and greatest
technologies. You’ll have the chance to design your own thesis project that
fits your knowledge, passion, and ambitions. You’ll write your thesis on a
topic within the Data Science domain, and translate the insights gained from
your research into practical and applicable recommendations and solutions.

You are an HBO (Bachelor’s) or WO (Master’s) student starting a thesis internship in Data & Analytics from February 1, 2026. You have an affinity with IT consultancy and want to learn more about it. You are interested in or already have some experience with Azure and/or data engineering. You are communicative in both Dutch and English. You are motivated to set up a solid thesis research project, proactive, independent, and enjoy meeting new people!
Data scientists focus on complex data analysis by developing
and applying machine learning models to gain insights or make predictions. With
this open thesis assignment, you’ll have the opportunity to design your own
exciting research project, for example in one of the following areas:
Using AI to speed up data as a service: This research explores the feasibility of developing a scalable, cost-effective, and widely accessible Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) solution. It involves studying key DaaS concepts, business value, and AI integration, then building a proof of concept to assess whether multiple customers can effectively benefit from such a model. You will be using technologies such as DaaS, AI, Continuous Delivery, Power BI and Organizational Knowledge Automatic assessment of quality: This research aims to design and develop a proof of concept for automating data quality assessment using quality and privacy indicators. The goal is to help users quickly evaluate dataset usability without requiring deep statistical knowledge, making the process faster, smarter, and more accessible. The study will explore concepts like data quality, data discovery, and machine learning before building the prototype. You will be using technologies such as Visual Studio, Data Quality, Azure and Open AI services Generate pipelines by using AI: This research focuses on improving ETL/ELT processes by exploring how AI and metadata can automate and accelerate tasks such as code generation, data transformation, and adapting to structural changes in source systems. The assignment involves analyzing business and technical requirements, importing and transforming diverse data sources, and designing an AI-driven model to optimize building dimensions and fact tables based on business logic. You will be using technologies such as Visual Studio, GitHub, Copilot and Microsoft Azure products Rise of Data Democratization Culture: This research explores data democratization, the practice of making data accessible and understandable across an organization to drive collaboration, efficiency, and innovation. It examines how AI can enhance adoption by enabling self-service analytics, automating insights, and supporting decision-making, while also addressing challenges like governance, data quality, privacy, and data literacy. The project involves studying these concepts, assessing business value, and developing a proof of concept to show how AI can accelerate data democratization. You will be using technologies such as Data, AI, organization cultural, Operational Knowledge
Our experienced Analytics consultants will brainstorm with
you about the possibilities for a great research project. During your
internship, you’ll spend most of your time on your thesis research. But there
will also be time for networking, attending practice meetings, and having
coffee with your buddy!
