Represent the Procurement department in NPI project teams to secure deployment of procurement/category strategies and supply chain configurations.
Build and maintain relationships with Procurement colleagues, R&D, Product Engineering, Logistics, and other departments.
Define and communicate the design of the Supply Chain in agreement with Procurement Category Managers.
Support and contribute to strategy based on requirements and Thermo Fisher Scientific make/buy strategy.
Define and follow up on cost targets of purchased items and modules.
Coordinate Procurement colleagues in the execution of Make/Buy Decisions, Supply Chain Design, Suppliers Selection process, contracting, and Material Cost Management.
Manage supply chain-related critical issues within projects.
Ensure compliance with regulatory legislation and Integrated Management System (IMS).
Cost Optimization:
Estimate manufacturing costs for complex parts and prepare cost estimates for new products.
Drive down the cost of goods by influencing design choices based on manufacturability and cost considerations.
Provide transparency in product costing for both technical costs and business uplifts.
Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities through in-depth assessments of factory standard costs.
Develop should-cost analyses for components and assemblies using specialized costing tools.
Support Procurement fact-based cost negotiation with suppliers, including machining times, setup analysis, and tooling.
Education:
Minimally Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electronics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
Demonstrated ability in cost estimation, manufacturing, or a related field.
Project management background with experience of supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and cost optimization.
Experience with high-precision machining and advanced manufacturing steps like Laser cutting, E-Beam welding, 3D printing, etching, Wire EDM, and Magnetic Annealing.
Experience with machining materials like Titanium, Nickel Iron, Cobalt Iron, Ferro Magnetic metals, Copper Alloy, and high-end plastics.
Understanding of high-vacuum cleanliness and surface finishing requirements for mechanical components and related processes.
Experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, and Project Management in High-Tech Systems environments.

Proficiency in using cost estimation and manufacturing simulation software.
