Department
The Project Manager is part of the department “Strategic Project Management” (SPM) within the Strategic Product & Business Development (SP&BD) domain. The SPM team currently consists of the Manager SPM and three project managers/project management officers. The team is responsible for leading strategic, multidisciplinary (often international) projects in close collaboration with departments across Robeco, including Sales & Marketing, Investments, Product Management, Operations, IT, Compliance, Legal, and Risk. Projects are typically initiated by the Executive Committee (ExCo) and span the following categories:
Mergers & acquisitions (implementation of acquisitions/divestments) Strategic internal restructuringNew business/operating modelsRegulatory implementation with significant cross-departmental impactPosition & Requirements
As a Project Manager within our SPM team, you will lead strategic, multidisciplinary (often international) projects that shape the future of our asset management business. You will collaborate closely with teams across Sales & Marketing, Investments, Product Management, Operations, IT, Compliance, Legal, and Risk. Projects are typically initiated by the Executive Committee and include mergers & acquisitions, internal restructuring, new business/operating models, and regulatory implementations with significant cross-departmental impact.
Independently manage multiple strategic projects from analysis through execution and implementation. Track and report project performance using KPIs (delivery timelines, budget adherence, stakeholder satisfaction, strategic alignment). Collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage senior stakeholders (Executive Committee, business, IT, and second-line departments). Conduct consulting and business analysis activities to support project objectives. Share knowledge and conduct peer reviews within the SPM team. Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. Drive continuous improvement and innovation in project management processes.Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, or equivalent. 7–10 years of relevant experience as a project manager in financial services, ideally with a consulting background. Strong affinity with and understanding of the asset management industry, investment products, and processes. Proven stakeholder management and communication skills, including experience working with senior leadership. Strong analytical and consultancy skills; highly organized, pragmatic, proactive, and results-driven. Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., PMI, Prince2). Fluent in English (spoken and written); Dutch is a plus. Availability for at least 32 hours per week.
