As Manager Corporate Strategy you will co-create and operationalize our corporate strategy across Europe and the United States. You will learn, develop and leverage fundamental skills around how to develop effective strategy, how to drive omnichannel growth, and be a thought partner to our senior leaders to shape the future direction of our business. You will help shape Ahold Delhaize’s Group strategy, assisting in the development, execution and communication of our corporate strategy to our management and supervisory boards, our executive committee, as well as across all of our functions, regions and brands. You will help define the strategic direction of Ahold Delhaize.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy Development and Execution
  • Driving content and/or coordinating the execution of cross-functional strategic projects that span brands, markets, and functions
  • Translating high-level strategic ambitions into actionable workstreams to support the implementation of our Group-wide strategy
  • Tracking initiatives, milestones and points of attention across functions and countries
  • Leading the refresh of the strategy section of the Annual Report
  • Trends & Market Insights
  • Identifying external consumer, industry, and economic trends
  • Monitoring competitor and peer moves, commercial developments, and disruptive business models
  • Synthesizing insights into implications for Ahold Delhaize’s Group strategy
  • Innovation & Ecosystem Engagement
  • Identifying opportunities for ecosystem engagement (e.g., conferences, partnerships)
  • Supporting internal capability-building around strategy, innovation and transformation
  • Liaising with external stakeholders (e.g., government officials, NGOs, partners) on behalf of leadership
  • Narrative Building and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Co-developing positioning frameworks and strategic narratives for internal and external audiences
  • Facilitating workshops and feedback sessions to refine and validate messaging
  • Preparing briefing materials and talking points for executive engagements
  • Synthesizing complex information into concise, strategic summaries and present them to senior audiences
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Acting as a connector across departments to ensure strategic coherence and integrating views from multiple business units
  • Representing the Corporate Strategy team in cross-functional forums and working groups

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in Economics or Business Administration or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of work experience in a consulting firm or in the retail industry across corporate strategy, strategy consulting, finance and/or business development
  • Ability to create and communicate complex strategic insights and the company strategy at an executive level
  • Logical structuring skills, problem decomposition and solutioning
  • Proactive and entrepreneurial attitude for taking on new roles and responsibilities
  • Experience managing projects, key stakeholders and workstreams
  • Experience developing and executing senior leadership meetings and workshops
  • Ability to develop quantitative analysis in Excel
  • Experience conducting external research and driving external and internal stakeholder interviews
