To help lead this journey, we’re seeking an ambitious Consulting Director to scale our impact: expanding into adjacent industries while doubling down on the technical rigor and trusted relationships that set us apart.

Role Summary

The Consulting Director is a key leadership role at WhiteSpace Solutions, forming the Management Team alongside the Growth and Technical Directors. As Consulting Director, you are responsible for overseeing client solution delivery, shaping account growth opportunities, and ensuring long-term client satisfaction. You ensure that consulting engagements translate strategic intent into tangible business value - leveraging our platform, guiding the solutions team, and fostering deep client relationships. You also play a central role in maintaining delivery excellence, developing delivery standards, mentoring consultants, and continuing to shape the WhiteSpace culture.

As we expand in and beyond Energy, you will help translate client problems in new domains into high-quality, scalable solutions that showcase the power of our platform and approach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Solution Delivery Leadership: Lead delivery of consulting engagements across sectors, ensuring client-problem focused project scoping, and high-quality execution that lead to impactful client outcomes.
  • Use case translation, effort estimation (with Solutions Lead), and deployments.
  • Serve as the escalation point for client delivery issues and complex solution design questions.
  • Build a strong-performing consulting and client support team as the organisation grows
  • Client Success & Retention: Own account management, ensuring customer adoption, support and satisfaction, retention, and identification of follow-on needs.
  • Lead follow-on deal shaping for existing accounts.
  • Monitor and improve KPIs related to customer satisfaction and revenue retention.
  • Translation & Standards: Guide consultants in translating complex client problems.
  • Define and maintain delivery standards and internal knowledge-sharing practices.
  • Coordinate with the Growth director on deal shaping, renewals, pricing, and upselling.
  • Coordinate with the Technical Director and Solutions Lead on feasibility and solution quality.
  • Manage Consulting partnerships on joint delivery models.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of key lifecycle steps such as solution design, effort estimation, and delivery quality.
  • Key Interfaces to Manage
  • Clients: Accountable for satisfaction and success.
  • Growth Director: Input into new deals, alignment on account development and renewals.
  • Technical Director: Platform adoption and feedback loop from delivery, input into reusable concepts and innovation translation.
  • Solutions Lead: Joint ownership of delivery quality and effort estimation.

To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate:

Qualifications & Skills
  • Consulting & Delivery: Track record - minimum 5-10 years, in consulting delivery, ideally in technical domains.
  • Strong grasp of solution scoping and team leadership.
  • Ability to abstract and translate client challenges as input into solution blueprints.
  • Comfortable engaging with ambiguity and designing first-of-kind solutions.
  • Client Engagement: Strong relationship-building skills and a strategic mindset toward client growth and retention.
  • Experience navigating complex client organisations and balancing stakeholder interests.
  • Domain Fluency: Deep understanding of planning and optimisation challenges in one or more industries.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas (e.g., field development planning, logistics, maintenance) is highly valued.
  • Exposure to sectors such as healthcare, renewables, energy, or supply chain planning is a plus.

Terms & location

  • This is a permanent staff position, based in The Netherlands
  • We offer a hybrid work environment and trust you can balance remote & office work
  • Base salary €150,000/yr + 8% holiday allowance + 4% pension contribution
  • We have an annual profit-sharing scheme dependent on company performance, individual delivery, and alignment with company values.
  • We also intend to offer equity participation as part of our commitment to sharing in the company's future success.
