Job description
\n\nAs Professor, you will lead research within the Endodontology section and hold final responsibility for (the innovation of) education and patient care in endodontology at ACTA. You will play a key role as a bridge between clinicians and researchers, acting as an organizer and unifying force in multidisciplinary collaborations. You will contribute significantly to the further development of the field, focusing on translational research with attention to various endodontic treatments and new techniques and materials. Additionally, the chair holder is expected to represent endodontology within and outside the university, increase access to funding opportunities, and ensure continuity within the section and the discipline.
\n\n\n\nYour responsibilities
\n\nYour tasks include developing, innovating, implementing, and delivering bachelor’s, master’s, and post-master’s education in endodontology within the faculty. You will play a visible role in the development of research and its application in diagnostics, treatment methods, and long-term outcomes. Supervising PhD students is also part of the role. You will ensure a clear positioning of the Endodontology section and actively promote both national and international collaborations.

\n\nyou have in-depth expertise in scientific research on innovations and treatments for complex dental care in endodontology and can quickly adopt and apply new clinical, scientific, and technological developments, as well as validate innovations for clinical implementation. Peer-reviewed publications with significant impact in the field of endodontology are requiredyou are nationally and internationally recognized as a distinguished researcher and clinician. Active involvement in policy-making, such as drafting guidelines, and regular appearances as a keynote speaker at relevant conferences are essential. Active participation in committees and policy bodies of organizations such as the Dutch Society for Endodontology, the European Society for Endodontology, and other relevant institutions is expectedyou have experience in renewing existing teaching methods, designing and evaluating educational programs, and delivering clinical and theoretical education to dental students. You hold a University Teaching Qualification (BKO) or are willing to obtain it shortlyyou have experience in multidisciplinary collaborations, with special attention to integrating clinically oriented research groups within ACTA and external research institutes. You also have experience in successfully applying for research fundingyou are capable of effectively leading staff within the section in research, patient care, and education. Enthusiasm and a collaborative vision are essentialyou can clearly and understandably communicate complex clinical and scientific topics to a clinically oriented audience, with the flexibility to tailor explanations to the audience’s level of knowledgeyou are registered in the Dutch BIG register and have completed a recognized training program in endodontology (as acknowledged by the Dutch Society for Endodontology)vaccination against Hepatitis B is mandatory for clinical work at ACTA\nWhat do we offer?

\n\na salary of minimum € 7.,00 (H2) and maximum € 10.,00 (H2) gross per month, on a full-time basis. This is based on UFO profile Professor 2. The exact salary depends on your education and experiencea position for at least 0.8 FTE. The initial employment contract will be for one year.
