About WhiteSpace Solutions
At WhiteSpace Solutions, we bring care back to critical decisions. Our AI-powered solutions don’t replace human judgment — they elevate it. By combining advanced algorithms with deeply human interfaces, we turn complexity into clarity and confident action. Always with fast time to value.
Our proprietary platform underpins high-impact optimisation across Oil & Gas, renewable energy, FMCG, and healthcare. With a growing team of 30+ professionals, we unite algorithmic power, intuitive design, and software delivery excellence with deep domain knowledge — delivering results that matter.
As we enter our next phase of growth, we are embedding intelligence at the core of our platform. To accelerate this, we’re seeking a GenAI Platform Engineer — ensuring that AI innovations move from prototype to reliable, reusable components that scale across our solutions.
Role in one line
Own the productionization of GenAI features: take prototypes and ship reliable, scalable services that other teams can reuse.
What you’ll do
- Ship production services: take a Python prototype → design an API (FastAPI) → deploy to GKE → ensure reliability with logs, metrics, and dashboards.
- Standardize: create templates and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) for LLM/embedding services, incl. build/test, image signing, staged deployments, and safe rollback.
- Harden: implement authn/z, rate limits, secrets management, PII handling (GDPR), cost controls, and performance guardrails for GenAI workloads.
- Integrate: make features consumable by product teams—good APIs, docs, and versioning. Partner closely with Platform and Solutions engineers.
- Evolve: stay on top of model/provider changes and bring pragmatic improvements into the stack without breaking SLAs or budgets.
Must-haves
- Backend engineering: 3–6 years in Python; strong API design (versioning, idempotency, pagination, authn/z).
- Kubernetes on cloud: confident with GKE, Helm/Kustomize, resource limits/requests, autoscaling, ingress, and rollbacks.
- CI/CD from scratch: GitHub Actions (or similar) to build/test/release multi-env pipelines with approvals and rollback.
- Cloud fundamentals (GCP preferred): IAM, secrets (Secret Manager), artifact registries.
- Infra as Code (Terraform): writing and configuring modules
- Observability: able to implement structured logging and metrics, and dashboards using tools like Sentry and Grafana or equivalents; build useful dashboards and alerts; define meaningful SLOs.
- GenAI in production: hands-on with at least one of:
- deploying LLM APIs behind secure services,
- integrating embeddings & vector stores,
- implementing caching/cost controls or evaluation pipelines.
Helpful-to-have
- Broader GenAI plumbing: prompt/config versioning, guardrails, eval frameworks, multi-provider routing.
- Broader Cloud knowledge: networking (VPCs/LBs), cost monitoring and edge functions.
- Broader Infra as Code knowledge: FluxCD, service mesh, feature flags, and A/B or shadow deploys
- Security & compliance: practical GDPR/ISO27001 hygiene — least privilege, data retention, PII logging strategy, key rotation; comfortable working within an ISMS and supplier-management controls.
- Secondary languages (TypeScript for UI/API integration, Go for infra services).
Who you are
- Curious, pragmatic, and collaborative.
- Calm under pressure, able to balance speed with quality.
- A systems thinker who makes complex things simple.
- Excited to work in a fast-growing company where your code powers real decisions.
