In essence, your role involves
Strategic Leadership: Execute pan-European and UK strategy in sustainable finance, aligning with company vision and growth goals.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full adherence to AFM, FCA, and EU regulations; maintain strong regulator relationships and meet governance standards.
Commercial Growth: Identify new markets and opportunities, develop innovative sustainable financial products, and grow revenue and market share.
Sales Leadership: Set and drive sales targets, lead a customer-centric sales culture, and implement sales excellence programs across Europe and the UK.
Operational Oversight: Manage daily operations with full P&L responsibility, ensuring cross-functional alignment and regulatory compliance.
Team Leadership: Lead and develop a 30-person team, including sales, trading, and support, fostering accountability, diversity, and professional growth.
Stakeholder Engagement & Innovation: Represent the company with clients, investors, and industry bodies, while driving innovation and staying ahead of market trends.
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and attributes:
Educational & Industry Background: Master’s in Finance, Economics, or Business; 15+ years in financial services, including senior leadership in regulated environments.
Executive Leadership: Proven track record as MD or divisional head with board-level exposure, demonstrating strong governance, ethics, and accountability.
Commercial & Sales Acumen: Skilled in driving growth, leading sales teams, and executing commercial strategies to deliver measurable results.
Operational & Regulatory Expertise: In-depth experience across compliance, risk, finance, audit, and HR; meets Dutch AFM suitability standards.
Sustainable Finance Focus: Strong affinity for ESG-related financial products (e.g., carbon credits, ESG-linked instruments); prior exposure is a plus.
Regulatory & Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of EU/UK regulations with direct experience working with regulators (AFM, DNB, FCA).
Core Leadership Qualities: Strategic, ethical, resilient, and people-focused with strong communication, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills.
Cultural & International Fit: Fluent in English (Dutch/other EU languages a plus); effective in diverse, international teams with a passion for sustainability.
