Global finance director

Zero Motorcycles is looking for an experienced and hands-on Global Financial Director at our new global headquarters in Amsterdam to oversee all financial operations across our growing international business. To support our growth and ambitious global expansion, we are looking for an agile, forward-thinking Finance Director who thrives in dynamic, high-growth environments. In this role, you will lead the financial heartbeat of our European operations—ensuring accuracy, insight, and impact in every number.

You will manage the accounting and finance global activities. You will ensure accurate and timely reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance with relevant financial regulations. Working closely with the CFO and executive leadership, you’ll provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and sustainable growth.

• Oversee financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and compliance.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial statements and month-end closings.
• Maintain internal controls, audit readiness, and risk management practices.
• Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A) to assess business performance.
• Support the CFO in long-term strategic planning and investment decisions.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
• Develop KPIs and dashboards to monitor performance and drive improvement.
• Mentor and support the finance team to build a high-performing culture.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
• 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Experience in mid-sized or fast-growing international companies.
• Strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP, IFRS, and local tax regulations.
• Proficiency in SAP and strong Excel skills; experience with Adaptive is a plus.

• Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus.
• Strategic thinker with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Hands-on and proactive with a commercial mindset.
• Able to balance strategic oversight with operational detail.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment.
