What will be your role?

The Advanced Computing Engineering research group develops and demonstrates innovative IT solutions for both public and private sectors, focusing on big data processing, predictive analytics, large-scale simulations, and human interaction with complex data systems. You will work on multiple projects simultaneously, developing forward-looking architectures and concepts in close collaboration with colleagues and clients. Your mission is to bridge operations, business processes, and IT to create innovative solutions that meet the Defence organization’s evolving needs.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and translate enterprise architectures that align with operational processes and security requirements (across multiple classification levels).
  • Design IT and data architectures for mission-critical systems and secure data exchange on platforms with limited connectivity.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients to deliver architectural views and concepts that support defense objectives.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring alignment of business needs with IT solutions.
What We Expect From You
  • Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Business Information Technology, Technical Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with an enterprise architecture approach to translate business and information needs into information systems.
  • At least three years of relevant work experience with practical insights.
  • Familiarity with the Dutch Defense organization, its operational processes and ICT systems (C4I), or strong willingness to learn is a plus.
  • Experience creating architectural views using TOGAF or NAF and translating them into a customer-facing perspective is advantageous.
  • Fluency in Dutch and English.
What You'll Get In Return
  • Challenging and varied work with real impact, with opportunities to shape your career at TNO.
  • Gross monthly salary between €4,500 and €6,600 (based on knowledge and experience), 8% holiday pay, 13th month 8.33%, and a flex budget (5.58% + €180).
  • Optional employee benefits to tailor your package, plus development opportunities.
  • 33 days annual leave (full-time) and a comprehensive benefits package including mobility support and pension.
The Selection Process

Please apply before 8 October 2025. The process includes two interview rounds, with a final meeting to discuss terms and tailored benefits. It may include online assessment and reference checks.
