Overview

Director Corporate Services role at Booking.com. The Director of Procurement of Corporate Services is accountable for developing and executing the Procurement vision and category strategies that drive optimal procurement solutions to help the business grow, reduce risk and manage costs with best-in-class solutions. The role works with all brands/functions globally to strategically source and proactively manage spend with a focus on added value and building a best-in-class procurement function for sustained savings and competitive advantage. The role manages a category portfolio of €400M+ in annual spend and oversees procurement projects with individual values up to €50M, driving cost efficiency, innovation, supplier collaboration, and risk mitigation. This position requires deep expertise in FM, HR procurement and the ability to work collaboratively with senior stakeholders and external partners in a complex matrix environment. The role will manage VP/SVP relationships at the firm and is a key member of the Procurement Leadership team.

Responsibilities
  • People and team management and development: develop and build organizational capability within the procurement and sourcing function to create a highly effective team; ensure top talent is retained, hired, and developed across all levels; partner with HR to provide training and development opportunities across the procurement organization.
  • Strategy development: align category and sourcing strategies to deliver Best in Class KPIs across cost, service, delivery, and risk; establish governance with leadership of spend areas across brands; equip the team with tools and resources to execute; lead cross-functional engagement and change management to support strategic and operational objectives; drive annual cost savings and value generation; implement the Tower program.
  • Contracting: apply risk management strategies to sourcing initiatives including legal and third-party risk management tracks.
  • Stakeholder management & collaboration: provide strategic consulting and analytics to executive management and key stakeholders; manage senior-level relationships internally and externally to align procurement goals with business priorities; collaborate to optimize scope and requirements; provide regular reporting on supplier performance, risk, and KPIs.
  • Supplier relationship management: establish strategic vendors, governance frameworks, and performance metrics; monitor agency effectiveness and drive supplier diversity, innovation, and risk mitigation.
  • Contract & commercial negotiations: negotiate and manage complex contracts with marketing vendors, ensuring compliance, ethical standards, IP protection, and risk allocation in agreements.
  • Budget optimization & ROI: understand key cost drivers and budgets; support budgeting and monitor procurement-driven savings such as cost avoidance and value-added services; track and report P&L savings.
  • Communication: own relationships with stakeholders, including conflict resolution and supplier-management framework.
  • Qualifications and competencies: strong leadership, strategic thinking, cross-functional collaboration, data-driven decision making, and ability to operate in a fast-moving, global environment.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 12-15 years of progressive leadership experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, or Category Management, with at least 5 years in FM or HR spend within complex multinational/digital environments.
  • Proven track record leading diverse, multifunctional teams across regions.
  • Experience partnering with Operations and/or Strategy Groups to provide a holistic perspective.
  • Strong knowledge of FM/HR/Travel spend categories; expertise in sourcing processes, category strategies, SRM, and negotiation strategies.
  • Familiarity with eSourcing tools (e.g., iValua, Coupa), contract management platforms, procurement analytics, and knowledge of AI technologies.
  • Soft skills: entrepreneurial mindset, excellent relationship management, strong business acumen, data analytics capabilities, learning agility, and execution excellence.
