About ACT

As the leading environmental solutions partner for organizations globally, ACT helps its B2B partners meet increasing environmental action and disclosure expectations from regulators, customers, investors, suppliers, and other stakeholders with transparency and confidence. Founded in 2009 as a trading house and market maker in environmental products such as CO2 emission rights and green certificates, ACT has experienced explosive growth, becoming a unicorn company and one of the market's most successful traders. The company trades in dozens of products across numerous markets in Europe and the USA, with teams located in Amsterdam, New York, Paris, Shanghai, Singapore, London, and Tokyo. With 550 employees worldwide, including 350 at the Amsterdam headquarters in the sustainable Atrium building in the Zuidas, ACT fosters a vibrant commercial community with a dynamic, young workforce. The company promotes a positive work environment with frequent team activities and outings.

Function

Your primary goal will be to work on commercial agreements and (structuring) projects in collaboration with the business and legal colleagues. You will add value to the Legal department by providing tailored advice and guidance to stakeholders such as the front office (sales traders and back office), IT, compliance and risk, and HR. As the market for sustainability certificates grows, ACT is increasingly entering into larger, long-term (>10 years) purchase and sale agreements. Your role will be crucial in assisting the business with negotiating these contracts.

The main responsibilities include:

  • Providing advice on complex projects in close collaboration with the legal team;
  • Drafting, negotiating, standardizing, and optimizing sale and purchase agreements, service and project agreements, and NDAs;
  • Bringing 4-6 years of experience from an international law firm or in-house legal department;
  • Possessing excellent negotiation, drafting, and execution skills for commercial purchase and sale contracts, with strong command of English;
  • Having a self-confident, self-starting mentality, skilled stakeholder management, and an entrepreneurial spirit;
  • Maintaining a positive mindset, thriving in a fast-paced environment, and acting swiftly when needed.

  • Offer

    ● Work on interesting legal issues with experienced professionals in a dynamic, high-energy environment where you can make a direct impact;

    ● Opportunities to broaden your legal skills and specialize in areas of your interest;

    ● In-house training and development programs, including leadership and product development training related to ACT’s core business and new products;

    ● Excellent working conditions, engaging Friday afternoon drinks, and legendary team outings;

    ● Provided laptop and telephone.
