URW Northern Europe is an international team of about 140 employees based in the Netherlands, Sweden, and Denmark. We run a total of 7 assets including Westfield Mall of the Netherlands, Stadshart Amstelveen, and Westfield Mall of Scandinavia.

We're looking for a talented individual to join the Northern European accounting team as an Asset Accountant. The team is divided between Amstelveen and Stockholm. The role is based in our Amstelveen office, Stadshart Amstelveen. The accounting team is a diverse team of 5 colleagues working on our Dutch assets and corporate entities.

What you will be doing…
  • Asset accounting for one shopping centre;
  • Accounting of corporate (holding) entities (60+ handled by the team);
  • Quarterly reporting for group purposes for Dutch companies (BFC consolidation program) holding a key role in that process;
  • Supporting audit of accounts for group purposes;
  • Accounting of restructurings (investments, disinvestments, potential JV structure);
  • Contact person for consolidation team and accounting of group service charges;
  • Participation in projects for Record-to-Report process (implementation of SAP4/HANA);
  • Active involvement in changing and harmonization of accounting processes between countries;
  • Supporting and challenging the Tax department;
  • Supporting in complex accounting topics (i.e. mergers, capital contributions, disposals, liquidations).
  • What skills, experience, and knowledge will you need to be successful?
  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance;
  • Knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS and Dutch GAAP);
  • You have 3-5 years of work experience in accounting;
  • Fluent in Dutch & English;
  • You have working experience (knowledge) of SAP and Excel;
  • You have analytical skills and experience in projects;
  • Experience in Real Estate is a plus.
