Overview

nhow Amsterdam RAI is a new social and multicultural hub for globetrotters, business travelers, and Amsterdam locals. The hotel has 650 rooms with a dynamic kitchen operation, including a busy breakfast buffet, a banqueting operation with 10 meeting rooms, the Moana bar, and room service. Your workplace will be the main kitchen on the 17th floor, one of the highest located professional kitchens in Amsterdam.

Responsibilities
  • As one of the chefs on duty, you will work evening shifts from 15:00 – 23:30 and prepare food for the Moana bar, staff canteen, and room service.
  • Prepare dishes according to nhow recipes and, occasionally, according to your own recipes.
  • Cook using à la minute methods and adhere to our standards for ingredients, recipes, working methods, and presentation.
  • Plan daily activities and order ingredients and other stock replenishments.
  • Monitor compliance with health & safety regulations and maintain your own workstation cleanliness.
  • Operate in a role that offers stability, routines, and a moderate level of pressure.
What we’re looking for / Qualifications
  • You have worked as an independent chef or commis-chef and want to take a step up to cook in a large hotel.
  • You have a passion for food and for creating unique experiences for our guests.
  • You enjoy working in an international team (English is the main language).
  • You are able to work independently and without supervision at times, and you don’t mind helping other departments.
  • You are a hard worker with an eye for detail and see challenges as opportunities.
