Senior data modeler

Job Description
As a Senior Data Modeler, you will:

• Create and maintain comprehensive conceptual, logical, and physical data models for Markets data, including data attributes, relationships, and flows.
  
• Design and optimize data structures and databases for efficient Markets data storage and retrieval in collaboration with IT Architects.
  
• Work closely with DevOps engineers to define data-platform requirements and implement and validate data models.
  
• Collaborate with Product Owners and Agile teams to translate business requirements into Product Backlog Items.
  
• Define and maintain data lineage, metadata, data mappings, and modelling documentation.
  
• Act as a Data Modelling and Markets Data SME, supporting data sourcing, integration, distribution, and utilization.
  
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, availability, and adherence to established data governance policies and procedures.
  

What You Bring to the Table:

• 6-8 years of overall professional experience in Data Modelling, Data Analysis, or Business Analysis.
  
• Proven experience in conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling.
  
• Strong experience in banking, financial services, and preferably Capital Markets / Markets Data.
  
• Good understanding of financial market products and processes.
  
• Strong knowledge of data governance, data lineage, metadata, and data management practices.
  
• Hands-on experience with data modelling tools such as Erwin and Enterprise Architect.
  
• Strong SQL skills for data querying and analysis.
  
• General understanding of IT concepts and technical environments.
  
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to data is an advantage.
  

You Should Possess the Ability to:

• Analyse complex data requirements and translate them into effective data models.
  
• Perform data mapping and identify relationships, dependencies, and data flows across Markets systems.
  
• Collaborate effectively with Product Owners, IT Architects, DevOps engineers, developers, and business stakeholders.
  
• Apply strong analytical and detail-oriented thinking to data modelling and analysis.
  
• Adapt to evolving data requirements and industry changes.
  
• Communicate complex data concepts clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.
  
• Handle sensitive financial data with appropriate ethical judgment and responsibility.
  
• Work effectively in an Agile environment and contribute to continuous data-model improvements.
